Sweden In Top Position With 55 Points

Sweden’s Artemis Youth Racing reached the top position in Pool A with two wins in the qualifiers of the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup. They qualified with 55 points.


They won two races of the three on day two to confirm their position.

The teams joining Sweden in Pool A are Team Tilt of Switzerland, the SVB team from Germany and Team Jeune of France.

The teams eliminated in Pool A of 2017 Red Bull Youth America’s Cup includes Youth Vikings Denmark and Kaijin Team Japan and in Pool B the eliminated teams are Austria’s Candidate Sailing Team and Next Generation USA.

The final line –up includes Artemis Youth Racing, Team France Jeune, SVB Team Germany, Team Tilt, Spanish Impulse, Land Rover BAR Academy, New Zealand Sailing Team and Bermuda’s Team BDA.

Red Bull Youth America’s Cup sports directors Roman Hagara and Hans Peter Steinacher expressed their views regarding the new development in competition, and regarding the Finals to be conducted on June 20th and 21st. Hagara said that though there were light winds during the race the team dealt with the situation well and managed to complete the race. He added that it is tough to race in hot conditions. The teammates had to work incredibly hard to maximize their opportunity.

With the list of finalists out he feels that the final days will see some thrilling racing. The team is ready to go out and deal with the challenges. Steinacher is extremely impressed with the teams participated in the regatta. He feels that it is too difficult to predict the winner of the series.

He is sure that the final racing will captivate the people in Bermuda. The Team BDA Bermuda reached finals and the whole country is looking forward to the final. He is sure that the team BDA will get all the support needed from spectators.
